Season 2020/21 Update

28 confirmed clubs. The deadline for new clubs officially closes at the AGM, but we don’t know the composition of leagues/season start until the FA prompts us. 28 clubs would be parity with last seasons two divisions, but we may well be starting late with a changed number of clubs and divisions so we can fit in the League, SDFL KO cup and Wilts Junior cup.

Abbey Meads (new), Bassett Bulldogs, Blunsdon, Chiseldon, Globe, Highworth Town DV, Lower Stratton, Moredon, Nalgo, Paragon, Priory Vale, Ramsbury, Redhouse, Regent, Spectrum, Swindon AFC, Swindon Supermarine DV. (25-May) + Ashton Keynes, Ruby Removals, Swindon Centurians, Marlborough Town Reserves, Sportz Central, North Swindon, Wheatsheaf + (30-May) Down Ampney, Intel (new), Hatherop (new) + (1-Jun) Cricklade Reserves

Sponsors? We’re drawing together options – what do sponsors want versus what can we offer (naming rights, web links and adverts). We have 4 interested parties but we do want to promote local businesses. Adverts/links on the web are ┬ú50 for 3 months, but sponsoring match reports, golden boot and golden glove leagues will get you a mention every time we post these.

Wilts FA are offering free affiliation for existing clubs and reduced insurance to existing clubs where the season was curtailed.

Player Registration forms. Are being issued as ‘print your own’. If you or a player is isolating you can complete these on their behalf, as long as they confirm the details by e-mail to

Every eligible club has been sent 15 forms, if you need more contact, to get your uniquely numbered forms.

A number of clubs have asked for more forms, which are chargeable at the usual 1 each. Colin will give you a new stack with your unique numbers.

REMEMBER. If your players can’t physically sign, then they have to confirm themselves by emailing Colin from their own email address.

AGM. John is drafting the minutes of our first ‘webex’ AGM. There were 37 logged in attendees, which included refs and the committee, so a decent turn out.

Awards. The committee were pleased to recognise BBM – you all know who čÖé for his contribution to refing with Ted Lewis virtually passing on the Master’s green Jacket, and Phil Harris from the Bulldogs as the secretary of the year for his efficient admin of a well run and respected club, passed on from Dave Page (Spectrum) from last season. Great work chaps.
