Chiseldon’s Vaughan Pleased With Win But Warns Of Tough Battle Ahead

With Chiseldon picking up their first win of the season with a comfortable 4-1 win against fellow strugglers Swindon AFC.

Stand in manager Daniel Vaughan was pleased with the result but expects a difficult game next weekend as the hosts turn visitors in the reverse fixture.

Vaughan said “Obviously very pleased to get our first win” .

“We’ve had a couple of games this year where we’ve been slightly unlucky to not have taken something away so it’s nice for the guys to get a reward for the hard work they’ve put in so far.

“The conditions weren’t great and we went into the game with a few people ill and/or injured. Unfortunately Dan Webb had to pull out before the game which was a huge blow as he’s quite a key player for us.

“Thankfully the guys stepped up with Nick Salter being the pick of the bunch to earn man of the match. Special mention to Luke Robinson playing the David Luiz role yesterday, managing to play as a striker from centre back.

“Credit to Swindon AFC who were a lot tougher than their results would suggest. We’ll be looking forward to another battle against them next week.”
