Week 22 Previews

Premier Division

This weekend’s fixtures sees top of the league Bassett Bulldogs up against mid-table Swindon Spitfires. The Bulldogs have been in great form of late so will be fully expecting to come away from this match victorious.

FC Dorcan will play host to Ramsbury, who will be feeling confident after their win against Spectrum last weekend. Dorcan haven’t won a match since back in January so will be looking to turn their luck around. Despite a recent bad run, they still remain in 4th position in the league.

Sportz Central will be taking on 3rd place Deers Leap on Saturday. Deers past two matches have either been abandoned or postponed so they will be feeling the pressure against Sportz. Their last meeting back in February saw Deer’s convincingly beat Sportz 5-1, so they will be hoping for more of the same this weekend.

Division One

Marlborough Reserves travel to Core Construction this weekend in what promises to be a very close match up. With the teams sitting in 8th and 9th position in the league and with only 2 points separating them, they will both have to bring everything they’ve got if they want to take home those 3 points.

Moredon FC will be up against title chasing Lower Stratton. Stratton are in fantastic form at the moment, and with Moredon having only won one match so far this year, the hosts will certainly have their work cut out for them.

Old Town United are taking on struggling New Town All Stars this weekend. Old Town are sure to still be the favourites in this match up, but will still be licking their wounds after their shock defeat against Lyneham last weekend.

We have a top and bottom clash this weekend as Sport4Pinehurst play host to Chiseldon. The teams last met only two weeks ago, with Pinehurst beating Chissy 5-1.

Current league leaders Lyneham head to Wroughton Reserves in a bid to keep their position at the top, whilst elsewhere, Stratton Juniors hope to gain on Old Town as they take on Haydon Wick.
