Match Report: Blunsdon -v- Hatherop – Preseason Friendly

Match report by Blunsdon

Blunsdon’s pre season games are coming thick and fast as they hosted Cirencester and District side Hatherop FC tonight. A very competitive game that saw Blusndon put in a convincing performance to finish 5-0 winners.

A strong first half saw the deadlock broken with a rocket from midfield maestro Kane Wheatley on his left foot, and they doubled the lead through Chester Dolisznyj who looked dangerous all half driving at the Hatherop defence from the right wing.

Second half got underway and Blusndon added a 3rd shortly after the restart a lovely worked team goal saw Chester Dolisznyj play in Jamie Pidgeon who unselfishly squared the ball to Nick Craft who knocked it over the line from close range.

Harry Portlock then made it 4-0 when he followed up from a free kick that the Hatherop keeper spilled and the game was officially wrapped up with 10 minuets to go when captain Tom Glass ran the ball from his own half and was taken down in the box, penalty to Blunsdon which was converted by Eliot Wheatley

Blusndon made a number of changes during the game with substitutes Alex Rosewell coming on and giving a solid performance in defence , Harry Portlock who worked hard down the left flank, getting on the score sheet in the process.

Jamie Pidgeon added a different option up front for us with a lovely assist and Eliot Wheatley making a 15 minuet appearance at the end of the game on his way to recovering from his injury.

MOTM tonight was a tough choice with solid performances all over the park but the accolade goes to Kane Wheatley, sensational first goal and a real driving force in midfield all night, looking creative up top but also defending well when required, Kane has looked shape in pre-season so far so it’s a well deserved performance and goal, well done Kane keep up the good work.

Another great pre season run out for everyone against a tough, physical team.

Great to see the goals shared among the team tonight with some brilliant football on display. We go again at the weekend against Malmsbury Vic Development.

Up the Blunny 💛🖤
