Previous Season Summary
Having been promoted to the Premier Division after only finishing fifth in Division 1 the previous year, it was always going to be a tough season. We got off to a reasonable start picking up a few draws and a couple of wins but struggled to find our form mid-season. However, we put a few good results together towards the end of the season and finished a respectable 7th which is as good as we hoped at the start of the year.
Aspirations for this Season
We have brought in a few decent players over the summer and kept our stronger players from last season, so we definitely have a strong squad. The league looks very competitve this season with some of the top teams from last season also strengthening and a couple of good sides coming up from Division 1, but we will be looking to be competitive towards the top of the table.
Future growth aspiration
Stratton Juniors FC is a community club with 19 youth teams (including two girls teams and an Under 16 Ability Counts team) from Under 6 through to Under 18, plus our mens team. The club has grown significantly in recent years and we are now one of the largest clubs in Swindon.
We will continue to invest in providing football in our community at all ages and levels, includng mens football which we hope will push on to higher levels in the future.
