Ruby Removals are a new name to the league but they have been present for a while as the club has re-branded from its days as Core Construction.
Core finished a comfortable mid-table last season but with a new re-branding of the club comes new ideas and goals.
We caught up with Dayne Lewis to get his thoughts on how he hopes the season will pan out for his team.
Q: Ruby Removals FC have only recently formed as a team in its current format, can you give us a bit of background to the team?.
We were the old core construction FC and I took over with my co manager at the start of last season due to a family tragedy hitting the previous manager, who unfortunately had to stand down.
We dedicated last season to the Dash family and now, with a new sponsor on-board, we’ve re-branded the club and hope to push on from last seasons efforts.
Q: How have your preparations for the season gone?.
We have played 9 pre-season games to date, and have won them all.
We have played a few from our league and as well as travelling to other districts sides to play. We’ve had some great results on our travels against some very strong teams.
Q: How have you found recruiting players during pre-season?. Are there any particular signings you are looking to put in strong performances this season?.
We kept most of the lads from last season and have added quite a few more strong players to get the depth we believe we need for the season.
I have to give my co manager all the credit for the new signings he’s pulled off as they have really helped to improve the first 11 as well as the squad as a whole.
Q: Do you have any specific hopes for this coming season and what are the long term goals for the club?.
We are planning to win the league this season and believe we have the squad and attitude to do so.
We want to move up to the next division and challenge for that in the coming years. From there, we would also like to start some sort form of junior football, with teams at all different age groups, to really help develop football in Swindon and develop the club as a whole.
Q: Who do you think will be pushing for top spot come the end of the season?
I think the teams that come down from last season should be a good standard and want to bounce back.
I also think Redhouse will be close also as they have a good squad and a good bunch of lads. I management team at Redhouse are a good bunch of lads and they are switched on with what they want to do. They give us a great game pre season which we came out on top in the end.
