MATCH REPORT – Home Team – Ashton Keynes 4 – 0 Calne Eagles
Ashton played their first of back to back cup matches, outclassing Calne Eagles from the Trowbridge & District League with a comfortable 4 – 0 victory.
Ashton dominated from start to finish but a mixture of missed chances, good saves and last ditch defending meant the score was much lower than it should have been.
Nick Gregory grabbed all 4 goals, including a first half hattrick and rightly was named man of the match.
This was Ashton’s first clean sheet of the season and a strong back four of Chris Field, Chris Robinson, James Lally and Ben Anderson meant Calne’s shots on target were just 1 for the match, with Brad James having a lonely time between the sticks.
Barnaby Chadwick and Dean Wilson found space on the wings and hard work from Del Fallon, Olly Taylor and Reece Bowler in the centre of the park dominated possession.
Again Gregory and Stevie Andrews continued their excellent partnership making it 14 between them in 5 matches.
An excellent dominant performance but still work to be done to hit the level we are capable of. However there was some excellent football on show and lots of positives can be taken with the squad now having strength in depth.
