FA Security Update
All FA platforms will be offline to allow for essential security updates on March 5th 6th & 7th 2024.
To ensure the integrity and resilience of our platforms, we require to run disaster recovery tests which involves verifying that we have the capability to recover data and applications and can continue to operate following critical IT failure or total disruption.
Its vitally important we conduct these tests to ensure we’re ready should any event take place. There is no ideal time to do perform these tests, so using insight from system data, we’ve opted to choose the quietest times to minimise the impact to Grassroots Football and County FA operations.
We have given a 3-day window to complete testing which gives us space to fix any issues or restore any data if encountered throughout testing. A best-case scenario would see on one day’s worth of downtime.
Impacted users:
(FA & County FA) & external users. Details: During disaster recovery testing, all systems will be offline and unavailable to both internal (FA & County FA) & external users.

Wiltshire County Women’s and Girls League
Before any rumours get out through the football grapevine, I wanted to explain our position. We received an e-mail from the Wiltshire FA at the end of January, advising that the Wiltshire County Women’s and Girls League were in need of restructuring as most of their current Officers and Committee were resigning at the end of the season and there were no volunteers coming forward to replace them.
The e-mail asked for leagues, who would be interested in taking on the administration, to attend a meeting with the Wiltshire FA and the Wiltshire County Women’s and Girls League.
We didn’t want the open age Ladies League to suffer, due to lack of organisation, so Martyn Rosewell and myself attended the meeting and, following discussions with our
Management Committee it was agreed to lodge an expression of interest for the open age part only.
The WCWGL held a Special General Meeting last week. Our League was represented by Pete Mildenhall, Mark Paris-Haines, Keith White and myself, and we gave a detailed proposal, of what they could expect if they came over to the District League. The Wiltshire Senior League was also represented.
Although mandatory to attend, the turn-out at the SGM was very poor, with only 4 open age clubs in attendance. However, with their Committee in agreement the vote was held, anyway, with one of those clubs abstaining, and the other 3 voting to join the Senior League.
If you have any questions I would be happy to try and answer them?
