Please take note of the following advice from our League Safeguarding Officer Keith White, and make sure your Club’s Welfare Officer is aware of the expectations ahead of the start of the new season.
BEST PRACTICE FOR UNDER 18’s ON MATCHDAYS
Please note that the following is a reminder to best practice to ensure the safeguarding of anyone under the age of 18 associated with the League (this may be a player, club officer, or an official attending your game)
- Clubs are reminded that any player under the age of 18 must have their own changing facilities or must arrive at the match in match kit. This includes before and after the game.
- Players under the age of 18 must not enter the changing room until everyone is dressed for the match. Only at this time can they partake in the Pre-match briefing.
- Clubs must provide changing facilities available for match officials that is away from the standard changing rooms (Officials this season may be under 18, and/or female)
(if changing facilities are not available for match officials please ensure you make the Referee Secretary and League Welfare officer aware of this)
- If you have any concerns regarding player welfare at your club (or you witness something during a game), then you have a duty to report this to your clubs welfare officer in the first instance, this must then be reported to the League Welfare officer, and Wiltshire FA immediately.
If in doubt, report it. The safeguarding and welfare of everyone involved in football is everyone’s responsibility, thanks from Keith White sdfl.welfare@outlook.com
