I hope you have all enjoyed the extended break from Football, spent some valuable time with your family and friends and now looking forward to getting back to playing again?
Here are some updates for you.
Results Secretary Vacancy
Ian has had to stand down from this position with immediate effect, and the committee have thanked him for the excellent work that he has done in this role. This has created a vacancy on the Management Committee if any of you are interested? In the meantime, Jimmy Horwood has stepped in to cover the role until somebody else takes it on. Please continue to carry on as usual how you enter your results but send/email your team sheets to Jimmy instead. jimmy.horwood@gmail.com
Wilts County FA Officers leaving their roles.
I have been informed only recently that both Emma Cottier-Small and Mark Young are leaving this month. I haven’t heard from the FA what their succession plan is, although I am making enquiries? Please hold on to any questions that you will have until I am in a better position to answer?
Safeguarding
To keep you in the loop, your clubs Welfare Officer, as shown in your club portal, should have received the following email from Maria Lai (County FA), regarding upcoming on line training availability. If this affects your club?
“Looking at the results of Novembers survey, most have said they would like training to be via MS Teams between 6pm-8pm on weekday evenings. You have also said these would like to be based on ‘hot topics’ and an open forum.
The first meeting will therefore take place on Wednesday 1st February 2023 starting at 6:30pm. The topic for this session will be ‘The role of the welfare officer’ followed by an open forum for your opportunity to engage with other CWO’s and ask me any questions.
I will be creating a monthly newsletter which will cover any WCFA updates and general ‘all things safeguarding’ information. If you would like to be part of that monthly mail, please send me back a response with the email you would like the newsletter to go to and I will form a spreadsheet with all those that wish to receive it.
I will be organising a face to face event in due course which I am hoping to have a guest speaker. This will be a great way to build on knowledge and engage on a more personal level, I will aim to get a date in within the next couple of months.
Lastly, THANK YOU ALL for your continued support with keeping grassroots football safe throughout the county, I hope in 2023 we can continue to embed and promote the ever safer culture for our young people. “
