The SDFL format for 2023-2024 will change this season

NEW FORMAT

Following the discussions with you at our AGM and subsequent discussions by your committee, it is now over to you? We need your thoughts as we need to keep certain weeks free for the early cup rounds, depending on what format is preferred.

• Do you want more games?
• Do you want to play for more cups?
• Do you want teams seeded?

WHY CHANGE?

Last season’s format with round robin groups, there were too many dead rubber matches.

Lower positioned teams were drawn against much higher placed teams?

Play off matches to determine first and second in group stages, deemed unnecessary?

CUP FINALS

We can have up to 3 Cup Finals on same day, if you want, if we don’t have extra time, and went straight to penalties, if necessary?

Sending out to Club Secretary and Team Manager(s), where there are 2 or more,  but only one vote per team will be counted, so please confer.

Options explained.

Option 1. Same as last season, with or without seeding?. To be discussed

Option 2. Pre Covid, as you were, with one big cup draw leading to two competitions ?

Option 3. A third competition as Option 2 but for losers of round 2 in each competition? Chairmans Cup was raised at the AGM?
