The Swindon and District Football League is pleased to announce its Cup Competitions for 2022/2023 season.

The cup competitions will comprise of a Cup & Plate competition which will be integrated between the league and Wiltshire County Cup fixtures.

 

Preliminary Round

Qualification for the Cup and Plate competitions will begin with a preliminary knockout round involving ALL clubs across both divisions.

Entry into the competitions is mandatory for all teams and entry fees have been paid as part of the 2022-23 membership fees.

The winners from each preliminary game will go into the cup competition, with the losing teams being placed in to the Plate competition.

 

Cup & Plate Format

Both competitions will take the format of a group stage competition with the top teams in each group progressing to the knock-out rounds.

The number of teams in each group is TBC but will likely be a group of 5 and a group of 6 to align with the number of teams in the league. This will give teams a minimum of 4 cup games with the more successful teams playing more.

The top two teams in each group will progress in to the semi-final’s with the final being held at the end of April.
