As 2024 comes to a close, let’s take a look at how the Swindon & District Community Football League‘s Premier Division and Division One have shaped up so far this season.
SDCFL Premier Division

The Premier Division has delivered a fiercely competitive first half of the season.
Purton FC leads the pack with 19 points, having secured six wins from their eight matches. Their consistency and strong defensive performances have positioned them as the team to beat.
Hot on their heels is Chiseldon FC , just three points behind with a game in hand. Their impressive +24 goal difference highlights their attacking prowess, making them strong contenders for the title.
Blunsdon FC Res rounds out the top three, with five wins and a solid 15 points. While they’ve suffered three defeats, they remain well-positioned to challenge the leaders.
Coleview FC Mens has been efficient with four wins from just five matches, showing great promise for the second half of the season.
At the other end of the table, Moredon FC are struggling to find form, still searching for their first point after seven games. Marlborough Town Dev and Old Town Athletic will also look to turn things around as the season progresses.
SDCFL League One

League One has been a story of dominance at the top, with a clear front-runner and a tight battle for promotion.
Cricklade Town Res sits comfortably at the summit with 20 points and an unbeaten record. Their +35 goal difference underlines their dominance, making them favorites to clinch the title.
Poulton and AFC Harrow are in hot pursuit, with Poulton trailing by just two points despite playing a game more. Meanwhile, Harrow’s unbeaten run in seven games keeps them firmly in the promotion race.
The mid-table is tightly contested, with Redhouse Res, FC Abbey Meads, and Spectrum all within striking distance of the top. A strong run in the second half could see any of these teams push for a top-two finish.
At the bottom of the table, FC Scorpion are yet to pick up a point, while Ridgeway Rovers and Lower Stratton face an uphill battle to climb out of the bottom three.
What’s Next?
Both divisions promise an exciting second half of the season, with title races, promotion battles, and relegation fights all yet to be decided. As we head into the new year, it’s clear that 2025 will bring plenty of drama and action to the #SDCFL.
Happy New Year to all teams, players, coaches, supporters and everyone involved with the Swindon & District Community Football League
