In their final pre-season game of the summer, both Haydon Wick and Swindon AFC were looking for a good performance to take them in to the opening weekend of the season with a bit of momentum.
The game was a close encounter with both sides creating chances and battling hard throughout the game. Swindon AFC opened their account when Nicos Manolis scored with a great free kick on the hour mark.
With both sides working hard in humid conditions, the game looked like it was going to end in a 1-0 win for Swindon AFC after neither side was able to take complete control of the game.
In the last few minutes of the game, Haydon Wick pushed everyone forward in search of an equaliser only for Swindon AFC to break quickly and Callum Wells had the easy task of slotting the ball in to an empty net to make it 2-0.
Haydon Wick continued to press hard and were rewarded work with a goal of their own very late in the game ensuring the game ended 2-1 to Swindon AFC.
That is pre-season done and dusted and the real action starts this Saturday afternoon.
