Blunsdon played away yesterday in very warm conditions and secured a relatively comfortable victory against Nalgo Sports winning 4-1 to claim all 3 points.

Blunsdon took the lead inside 10 minuets when Nick Craft was played in to slot a superb shot passed the keeper and into the far corner with his left foot, 1-0.

With Nalgo pushing for an equaliser, they thought they had found one when they found space in the Blunsdon box to head towards goal only to be denied by a superb reaction save from keeper Will Gage.

Nalgo did eventually level in the game from a corner, but Blunsdon regained the lead before the half time break as Nick Craft added his second of the day, 2-1.

Blunsdon continued to push on in the second half and looked the stronger team throughout, they thought they had extended their lead even further when a Harry Hillerby cross from wide left found Jamie Pidgeon at the back post to slot home, the Ref initially gave the goal but it was chalked off after protests from the Nalgo players that the ball had gone out from the cross.

Blunsdon did eventually extend their lead however when great hassling and pressure from Nick Craft saw him win the ball from the Nalgo defence and then beat the keeper to complete his hat-trick, great reward for his hard work.

Blunsdon then wrapped the game up with a 4th, Harry Portlock finding space at the back post to tap home from close range. Nalgo did nearly grab a consolation goal at the death but were denied by the bar and the game finished 4-1.

Blunsdon used all 3 of their subs yesterday with Kai Anderson coming on to add some fresh legs, Harry Portlock looked lovely when he came on, getting on the score sheet in the process and Alex Rosewell replaced injured Max Harrison-Tosatto in the last few moments of the game.

MOTM goes to Nick Craft who was simply superb from the first whistle to the last whistle, grabbing himself a Hat-trick in the process. It wasn’t just his goals that Blunsdon benefited from his work rate on and off the ball throughout the game was first class.

Well done Nick simply brilliant performance.

Up the Blunny 💛🖤
