As we approach the new season of the Swindon and District Football League‘s Premier Division, excitement is at its peak with the inclusion of some fresh teams that have earned promotion from Division 1 as well as a new joiner.
The league is set to become even more competitive, with the new sides ready to take on the established powerhouses.

1. Shield & Dagger FC Last season’s champions, Shield & Dagger, come into this season as the team to beat. Their attacking flair, which saw them score 54 goals, will undoubtedly be their main strength. They will be eager to retain their title and set the pace for the rest of the league.
2. Nationwide finished second in the previous campaign, and they will be hungry to go one step further this time around. With their solid defence and 37 points last season, they have proven themselves as serious contenders for the championship.
3. Nalgo Sports Club FC had an excellent season, securing third place. With 36 points and a balanced approach to the game, they will be aiming for another top-three finish.
4. Redhouse FC will look to improve on their fourth-place finish from last season. They possess a well-rounded team and have shown the ability to challenge the top sides.
5. Cricklade Town Reserves earned their promotion from Division 1 after finishing runners up and will be excited to test themselves in the Premier Division. Their strong performance in the lower division should give them confidence to compete against tougher opposition.
6. Down Ampney will be keen to build on their sixth-place finish from the previous season. Their ability to grind out results makes them a tough opponent for any team.
7. Chiseldon FC finished a commendable 7th last season after being promoted to the top flight. A good cup run saw them winning the SDFL Plate trophy and they will be looking to take that winning cup mentality into their league performances.
8. Bassett Bulldogs FC finished 8th last season and will be determined to prove their worth after a challenging previous season. They will be looking to avoid relegation and establish themselves as a competitive side in the Premier Division.
9. Coleview FC will be excited to test their mettle in the Premier Division after winning division 1 by 6 clear points last season. Their performances in Division 1 should provide them with valuable experience and confidence to do well this season.
10. Marlborough Town Development is a new addition to the Premier Division, and they will be eager to make a statement. As a development team, they are likely to bring in some young talents and look to surprise the established teams.
