SDFL Premier Division – Week 2 Preview

The Swindon and District Premier Division is off to a riveting start, with a new season filled with high stakes and fierce competition.

After the first round of matches, Down Ampney, Coleview, Bassett Bulldogs and Nationwide have set the early pace with wins, Chisledon & Nalgo look to start their season with a bang whilst others are eager to bounce back from opening-day defeats.

Marlborough Town Dev will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing start to the season losing 1-0 to Bulldogs.

They face a formidable Down Ampney side who comfortably beat Shield & Dagger, who are some peoples favourite to win the league, thanks to goals from Harvey Coster, Samuel Dibble, George James Bailey & Connor Hibbs.

Nationwide vs. Coleview

Nationwide and Coleview both enjoyed victorious starts to the campaign, setting the stage for a clash of the early titans. Nationwide managed to get a over the line with a 1-0 win against Cricklade Res after an Andrew Goodchild gave them the lead to which Cricklade couldn’t find a way back from.

Coleview secured all 3 points in their last outing against Redhouse after a thrilling game. With the game sat at 5 goals each, a last minute corner for Redhouse saw them push everyone forward, including the keeper. The gamble backfired as Coleview cleared the corner and travelled the length of the pitch to score in an empty net.

With both teams eager to maintain their winning ways, this matchup promises fireworks and a potential shift at the top of the table.

Redhouse vs. Nalgo Sports Club

Redhouse and Nalgo Sports Club are seeking their first points of the season after opening day loss for Nationwide whilst Nalgo line up for the first time this season.

Redhouse handed the game to their opposition last time around and will be determined to bounce back and avoid slipping further down the rankings.
