Up A Ladder Cup Competition Heats Up

2022 Spring Cup Round 2

The Up A Ladder Cup & Don Rogers Plate group tables are getting down to the final stages with teams still battling it out to secure a place in the next round of the draw.

Up A Ladder Cup 2022

Division 1 champions Chiseldon are fresh off the back of a comfortable 3-0 win against Nationwide and line up against Nalgo tomorrow. Nalgo, who are playing their first game in group A, had a strong season in the Premier division finishing in 3rd place and, with home advantage, will provide a difficult challenge for the visitors.

Group B is looking very tight with Premier Division Priory Vale welcoming Division 1 Down Ampney this weekend. Both teams are already through to the next round but the winner of the game will take top spot and be seeded in the next round.

Both teams had narrow victories over Redhouse in their previous cup games with Down Ampny winning 2-0 and Priory Vale winning 2-1. This should prove an entertain clash and both sides will fancy their chances of finishing top of the group.

Group C is already done and dusted with Ashton Keynes winning the group after a closely fought 1-0 victory over Highworth Town Dev. With Swindon AFC withdrawing, both sides find themselves in the hat for the next round.

Group D is complete but under difficult circumstances with no games actually being played. 2 wins have been granted to Blunsdon and 1 win to Hatherop so both teams progress having not actually playing a game.

2022 Spring Cup Round 2

Don Rogers Plate

Group E of the Don Rogers Plate is an intriguing affair with all 3 teams still able to progress to the next round.

Intel have completed both their fixtures and have beaten Pewsey Vale 2-1 but went on to lose to Shield & Dagger 5-0.

Division 2 runners up, Shield & Dagger, make the trip to Division 2 winners Pewsey Vale and, should Pewsey manage to win, it will leave all teams in the group on 3 points. That will bring it down to goal difference and if Pewsey are going to progress, they will have to make up a 3 goal deficit over their opponents.

Group F is already completed with KO Plastering leading the way via a resounding 4-0 away win at Siddington and a narrow 4-3 home victory over Ramsbury. Ramsbury took the runners up spot after a 3-0 home win against Siddington.

Spectrum took maximum points and top spot in Group G after beating Moredon 3-1 and Blunsdon Dev 2-0. Blunsdon Dev welcome Moredon tomorrow with the winners of the game progressing into the next round.

Top spot in Group H will be decided in tomorrows game between Bassett Bulldogs v Lower Stratton.

Both sides beat Cricklade Res by a 2 goal difference and currently share top spot. For the victors, a seeded spot in the next round whilst the losers will face a tougher route to the final.
