Lower Stratton opened their season with a thoroughly entertaining game against Swindon Supermarine DC in the #SDFL Premier Division.
9 goals were scored in the game and it was Lower Stratton who managed to score the extra goal in a 5-4 victory after Supermarine took the lead in the game.
Although Supermarine went in to the break with a 3-1 lead, the game was still closely contested and it should have all been over after Kyle Bowyer added his second goal of the game to give Supermarine a 4-1 victory.
Stratton refused to give up and managed to claw themselves back in to the game with two goals in quick succession from James Saunders and an own goal brought Stratton back in to the competition.
With the game finely balanced at 4-3, it was the on fire Saunders who netted his hattrick to level the game with only 10 minutes of the game left on the clock.
It looked like the game might have ended in a deserved point for both teams but Saunders had other ideas and netted late in the day to clinch a stunning comeback for the home team.
