The first round of fixtures in 2017 kicks off with some interesting lineups.
Premier Division
The premier divisions top side, Tawny Owl will be looking to start the new year with a bang as they line up against Spectrum who are struggling at the other end of the table.
Joint leaders Bassett Bulldogs will be facing Swindon Centurians who are one of 3 teams on 13 points in mid-table and will be sure to put up a strong fight as they try to stay in the top half of the table.
Spitfires will be desperate for a win against Ramsbury who are one place above them but 4 points clear in the league whilst bottom side North Swindon WMC will be looking for a change of fortune in 2017 as they line up against title chasing FC Dorcan.
Division One
In the first division, the game of the weekend sees 2nd placed Old Town United take on 3rd placed Sport 4 Pinehurst. A win for Pinehurst will see them draw level with Old Town at the top of the table.
League leaders Lyneham take on a struggling Marlborough side with the home who will be looking to start the new year in the same way they ended their last game with a win.
Else where, New Town take on Lower Stratton and with teams both teams on 16 points, its a big game to start the year. Also on 16 points are Wroughton Reserves who entertain a struggling Chiseldon side who will be desperate to win to ensure the gap at the bottom doesn’t open up any further.
Bottom side AFC Swindon will be looking to build upon their first win of the season in their last game with a visit Stratton Juniors who are still in with a shout at the title if they can pick up points early in the new year.
