Week 18 Preview

Premier Division

This weekends fixtures sees Deers Leap up against Swindon Centurians in a bid to stay top of the league table. Despite Deers Leap being firm favourites in this match up, the Centurians will be sure to bring their A game as they seek to put even more breathing space between themselves and the bottom two clubs.

Tawny Owl will be hoping to continue their winning streak against Ramsbury this weekend. After their thrilling win against Swindon Centurians last weekend, and with only 2 points between them and the top spot, this is sure to be another entertaining game.

Bottom side Spectrum will be looking to go level on points with fellow relegation contenders, North Swindon WMC who are without a game, when they take on Sportz Central who have struggled to find consitent form this season.

The remaining game in the division sees title challengers Bassett Bulldogs visit Swindon Spitfires. The Bulldogs will be hoping for a convincing victory to keep the league and cup double hopes alive ahead of their semi-final cup game next weekend.

Division One

Lyneham will be playing at home this weekend against Stratton Juniors. This should prove to be a very exciting match up with only 1 point between them. However with 2 games in hand, Lyneham will be hoping this will tip the scales in their favour.

League leaders Old Town United will be playing away against Moredon FC. Despite their 4 point buffer at the top of the league, Old Town only managed a point against Lower Stratton last weekend so it really is anyone’s game to win.

Bottom side Swindon AFC will be looking to to take advantage of fellow struggler’s Chiseldon’s free weekend by picking up maximum points against their hosts Haydon Wick. Haydon Wick  must have one eye on the semi-final game next weekend against league leaders Old Town United so will be interesting to see if they go all out in this game to give themselves a confidence boost or will they rotate the squad to rest players up for the cup.

Elsewhere in the division, Lower Stratton take on Core Construction, Marlborough Res play Wroughton Res and Struggling New Town All Stars have the difficult task of stopping the visitors Sport 4 Pinehurst, who are battling it out for top spot.
