The Swindon and District Division 1 is back in action, and after the first round of fixtures, the table is beginning to take shape.
Moredon FC, Lower Stratton, Spectrum, and Purton FC Dev have all opened their accounts with wins, showing their early intent. As the season progresses, it’s anyone’s guess who will ultimately emerge on top.

Blunsdon FC Res vs. Purton FC Dev

Blunsdon FC Reserves will be eager to kickstart their campaign after sitting out the opening round. They face a Purton FC Dev side that got off to a flying start with a 2-0 win over Drunken Masters thanks to goals from Daryl Herring & Tom Eagles.
Expect an intense clash as both teams seek valuable points early in the season.

FC Abbey Meads vs. Ramsbury
FC Abbey Meads and Ramsbury are both looking to bounce back from their opening round losses. FC Abbey Meads suffered a 3-0 defeat at Lower Stratton whilst Ramsbury lost in an entertaining 5-3 loss against Spectrum. This fixture provides an opportunity for redemption.
Who will recover and secure their first points of the season?

Lower Stratton vs. Poulton
Lower Stratton is riding high after their opening weekend 3-0 victory over FC Abbey Meads thanks to a brace from Costin Tudor and another from Christopher Daglish.
They’ll aim to maintain their momentum against Poulton, who are yet to feature this season. Poulton will be hoping to make a strong start and get early points on the board.

Spectrum vs. Moredon FC
Spectrum and Moredon both tasted success in their opening fixtures, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter. Spectrum will aim to protect their perfect record, while Moredon will be eager to continue their winning ways.
Both teams are in goalscoring form with Moredon’s Rhys Kirk netting a hattrick after coming off the bench last weekend whilst Spectrum will look to the experienced Ricky Hewitson to add to his two goal tally from last weekend.

Stratton Juniors Res vs. Drunken Masters
Both Stratton Juniors Res and Drunken Masters suffered defeats in their opening matches and will be determined to avoid a second consecutive loss. Expect a hard-fought contest as these teams seek to kickstart their seasons.
